When you're tired, you're ready for bed and just want to sleep, am I wrong? I know that's how I am anyways! We tend to accidentally put God on the back burner when we are tired, whether it's physically, emotionally or mentally. I know a lot of times it can be hard to pray, even just a quick thank you Lord can be hard to get out when we are exhausted!
Psalm 62:1 "Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation." You will find rest and peace when you call upon God, no matter how tired you are, I know it's hard, but we need to constantly be praying, thanking and praising Him. Your salvation comes from Him and Him alone, there's no other way into heaven!
2 Thessalonians 3:13 "But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing." if you're doing what God wants you to, do not tire of it. I know, I know, it's hard as all get out, but we must not tire of doing what is right in God's eyes, if we do all we have to do is call upon Him and ask Him for guidance and He will give it to us. Trust me you'll get more tired doing what's wrong than you will doing right.
Sometimes we cut ourselves off from God, and we become numb, when you're feeling that way, just whisper God's name, let yourself cry, get mad or whatever it may be, let Him into your heart and let Him take control so that He can take your burdens off of your shoulders. Yes, it's hard and yes, it sucks, but, we ourselves can not carry all of our burdens alone. We need God more than ever, especially when we are down in a rut!
We all need rest, so rest with God, even if you fall asleep praying or talking to God, that's ok, I do it all the time, at least the last thing you did that day was talk to the most important person in your life, or He should be. It's very easy to let the world surround you and distract you, but if you think about it, that's what Satan is best at, because he tries to pull you away from God, who loves you so much that He sent His son down to die for us all.
God didn't forget to wake you, or give you the breath that you're taking in or blowing out now, why should we put Him on the back burner just because we are tired. Nobody is perfect and we will all make mistakes, but we need to try our best because Jesus got tired, but He didn't stop what He was doing just because He was tired. Jesus still continued to carry that cross, and He went through with His death, even when He could have called His angels down to release Him. We are loved THAT much, so let's start trying to love just the same!
