Love, when you hear that, what is the first thing that comes to mind? For me, it's my family, mom, dad, brother, kids, husband, etc. it should be God. I'm just as guilty as you are, believe me! I know during hard and, let's be honest, easy times, it's hard to remember that God is there for us no matter what and that He loves us no matter what we do or what we say. People may love us, but we as people don't have the understanding of love like God does, and with some people, that love is conditional, whereas with God, it is NEVER conditional!
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." We should all know this one, even if you don't, if God didn't love us unconditionally, why would He send His ONLY son, to die for you? Me? Or anyone for that matter? He wouldn't have, He did it because He loves us more than we could ever imagine!
Jesus knew what was coming, and yet, He did God's will, like we should, and He died on that cross for us all. When you think that you're alone and that nobody loves you, you're wrong, God is there, and HE does love you, even if you think nobody else does! Isaiah 41:10 "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." Ephesians 3:17 "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love," As long as you're saved and you lean on Christ and you trust Him as well as listen, all the time not just sometimes, to what He has to say, you will always feel loved, you'll know that you're loved and cherished!
If your relationship, with anyone, makes you feel fear, it's toxic. Call upon the Lord and ask Him to show you and direct you on how to fix your relationship, on your end, you can't make others change, no matter how hard you try... 1 John 4:18 "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." Lean on God, if you hear Him tell you that the problem is on your side of the relationship, then ask Him where that spot of weakness is, ask Him to show you where to look so that you can fix it. If you have a bitter heart, it'll be hard as all get out for you to love especially like how the Lord loves you and I.
I know that sometimes, people will say or do things that really hurt you or make you angry, take a deep breath, talk to God and let Him guide you, let HIM show you how to love that person, even when you feel like they don't deserve it. But who are we to say who deserves love and who doesn't, even if you don't like the sin they're doing, Jesus died for ALL of us, not just one of us. None of us are better than another, and nobody's sins are better than others. So, love that person, show them compassion, and let them be able to see God shine through you, that's how it's supposed to work!
Love like God loves you, show people that you live for God and that you're His child. Love like you won't be here tomorrow, because tomorrow is never guaranteed, just like your next breath isn't guaranteed! Head up, chin up, pray up. Jesus loves you, and so do I!
